In a conflicting report this week, the Barometer of Oral Health says that 27% of Portuguese never go to the dentist “or only go in an emergency”. But 92% consider “a nice smile very important”. Nice smiles can only come from good oral hygiene, stresses the clinical director of the institute of implantology, warning that 68% of the country - whether they go to the dentist or not - has lost teeth.
