Thousands of people visited Albufeira for another hugely successful edition of the Al-Buhera festival, held between July 26 and 30 at the town’s Praça dos Pescadores.

Music, food and arts were the highlights of the event, which once again has left mayor Carlos Silva e Sousa feeling very proud.

“This event is already part of Portugal’s main cultural and touristic itineraries, and attracts thousands of visitors” he said.

Sousa added that it gives Albufeira a chance to promote its “cultural identity” through a handicraft fair with dozens of local craftsmen as well as a “100% Portuguese musical line-up” featuring several local artists, who have an opportunity to share the stage with big national stars.
