A group of 19 secondary students from Nobel Algarve international school in Porches visited the European Parliament in Brussels last month. The visit was an enrichment activity for the group that is taking part in the national Youth Parliament competition.

The group toured one of the most famous institutions in the world and were able to engage in discussion with the guide to gain a deeper understanding of the visit.

The group also visited the History Museum of the EU, the Natural History Museum, the Magritte Museum, Car Museum and Military Museum – with plenty of time left over to visit other parts of the city and to absorb the atmosphere of the city. Students were able to explore the social, historic, scientific, technological and artistic aspects of the city as well as the economy.

Prior to the visit, the students, aged 15-17, had been preparing to participate in the Youth Parliament and learning about Politics and History in their lessons, and this visit provided them with the opportunity to see in practice the European Parliament and other European institutions.
