A new map listing the Algarve’s wine producers, their wines and where they can be found was unveiled last week at Lisbon’s BTL tourism fair.

Created by the Algarve wine commission (Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve - CVA), the map aims to be an easy-to-use tool for wine lovers who want to explore what the region has to offer.

As Carlos Gracias, president of CVA, explained, the map features 34 wine producers across eight boroughs and includes GPS coordinates, contact details and a brief explanation about each winery.

A total of 10,000 copies of the map have been printed and will be distributed at several fairs and tourism events promoting the Algarve.

Algarve tourism boss Desidério Silva said: “Initiatives like this offer visitors an insight into the region’s wine sector, which is growing thanks to the quality of local wines and the hard work of their producers.”
