Former US president Barack Obama will be in Porto on July 6, to take part in a conference on climate change. The total bill for the conference, says Expresso, is €1 million, with half this amount needed to pay Obama’s fee.

The democrat who is reported to be in advanced negotiations over a series with Netflix will be in Porto for “some hours” but his fee “does not include giving interviews”.

Obama has recently been the subject of harsh criticism after it was revealed that he received 1.2 million dollars (almost 990,000 euros) for “three Wall Street speeches” to banking behemouths.

In other words, reports conclude that the payment agreed for attending “Climate Change Leadership Porto 2018”, organised by Advanced Leadership Foundation, is “a bargain”.
