One of the Algarve’s most ubiquitous musicians, the unmistakable Beto Kalulu - the bright-eyed man with the party hair - will be presenting his life work’s disc “Beto Kalulu 45 Anos de Música” at TEMPO in Portimão on September 22.

For anyone who loves Kalulu’s energetic style and happy vibes, the event will be a “celebration”, says the blurb and a “great night”.
Tickets are €10 (€8 for over-65s and under-12s) and can be booked ahead via TEMPO’s online box office (https://tempo.bol.pt/).

And the stage will be full with 16 musicians including guest appearances by Brazilian singer Silvia Nazário and her legendary partner on the acoustic guitar Cláudio Kumar.

From Brazilian to African rhythms, Beto Kalulu’s album, released last year, includes the participation of almost 40 guest artists from instrumentalists to singers. There is a bit of gospel choir, some Bossa Nova, hip hop, funk and “a few other surprises”: a little slice of the Algarve that fits perfectly into a suitcase.
