There were no Cameron Cup matches this week. More on this competition when the next game takes place on Tuesday, December 4.

Thursday, November 28 was Super 10’s competition day, dawning a bright but cloudy day, always threatening rain, but it allowed our games to be played without interruption.

Pedras shared four points each with Alvor, whilst Floresta also shared four points each with Albufeira, and Tavira took six points from Balaia. This makes the table for week six, with Floresta at the top with 27 points, Albufeira chasing closely behind on 26 points and Valverde closely following on 25 points. Alvor are holding up the table from the bottom on 10 points. One more game before the Christmas break.

Friday, November 30 was Albufeira Cats Christmas Party Fun Bowling Day, which was earlier this year due to several members going back to the UK for the Christmas period and wishing to include as many members as possible.

Everyone entered into the spirit of the day by dressing in Christmas jumpers or attire, much to the amusement of the hotel visitors who watched a great fun day’s bowling, wondering what was happening with strangely dressed bowlers.
Funds raised are going to the local orphanage.

Saturday, December 1 was a beautiful, sunny morning for our League games. In League A, Floresta Foresters took all eight points from Valverde Vipers, Alvor Scorpions took seven points from Tavira Tigers who won one point, Pedras Panthers took all eight points from Floresta Rangers, and Albufeira Cats won six points from Valverde Vulcans who won two points.

The table now has Valverde Vulcans at the top with 38 points, Floresta Foresters following closely behind on 35 points, with Valverde Vipers chasing on 27 points; Floresta Rangers being this week’s strongest team holding up the league from the bottom on 12 points.

In League B, Alvor Greens took six points from Balaia Pods who won two points. Floresta Huntsmen were the resting team this week. Balaia Whalers took two points from Alvor Amigos who won six points, whilst Valverde Vikings and Alvor Rooks shared the points with four each.

The B table now has Alvor Greens at the top with 25 points, Alvor Amigos and Valverde Vikings chasing closely on 23 points each; Alvor Rooks holding up League B on 12 points.

Only one more week to go before the Christmas break, and everything to play for in all competitions. The Inter-Club Competitions are progressing with many games taking place during the week.
