Rotary Clube Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) members returned to the local Poeta Emiliano da Costa school recently to participate in a series of career talks for the students. While there, they also enjoyed a lunch prepared and served by the students.

Last year members visited the school for lunch and donated €600 towards the purchase of an oven to assist the students with their food preparation. This year, after another “superb” three-course lunch prepared using the new oven, the Club donated €400 towards the purchase of a microwave and to fund a study trip.

The Rotary Club has a close relationship with the school, distributing dictionaries annually to 5th year students.

On March 7, for the fourth year running, RCEPI awarded diplomas of merit to their best students.

This year the certificates were presented by Bruno Costa, President Elect of RCEPI, and Francisco Soares, Director of the Pinheiro e Rosa school group. As in previous years, the three best students per year (5th to 9th) were chosen.

On the same day, the Club had also organised a series of career talks for the students. Subjects covered included civil and acoustic engineering, teaching, and music. A student that the Club is sponsoring through Faro University also came to talk about her course in prosthetics and demonstrated some of the equipment used to help amputees.
