Musicians Varoujan Bartikian (cello) and Lucjan Luc (piano) will be performing a concert on Sunday, June 11 at Quintinha da Música, near Tavira, at 5pm.

Varoujan and Lucjan will be playing Cello Sonata no 2 in D Major by J.S. Bach, Cello Sonata no 4 in C Major by L.van Beethoven and Cello Sonata in G Minor by S. Rachmaninov.

Varoujan Bartikian was born in Armenia and has a Master’s Degree in Cello and in Music Sciences, in the areas of Theory of Interpretation and Teaching Methodology. He moved to Portugal in 1989, when he joined the Gulbenkian Orchestra.

He also teaches cello and chamber music at the Piaget Institute.

Lucjan Luc was born in Jaroslaw, Poland. He obtained his degree in piano and chamber music in Katowice where he graduated with distinction.

While with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra (1992-1996), he performed throughout Portugal in over 200 chamber music recitals and as accompanist. In 2013, together with English violinist Alexander Stewart and Varoujan Bartikian, he has formed Trio Aeternus.
