Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago enjoyed a full day in the cinema spotlight last week as filming for ‘That Good Night’, a movie starring British screen legends John Hurt and Miranda Richardson, got underway.

In a statement, the resort said that “a few of the movie’s main scenes were filmed at Conrad, including the lobby, the terrace of Louro restaurant and the entrance of the ballroom”.

'That Good Night' is directed by Welsh filmmaker Eric Styles and is an adaptation of a 1996 play by N. J. Crisp.

The film is being shot in and around Loulé (click here), and marks John Hurt’s return to acting after fighting pancreatic cancer last year.

Hurt’s character is described as a “famed screenwriter coming to terms with his impending death.”

“As he does so, he resolves to attempt two final missions in life: to be reconciled to his long-lost son and to ensure he doesn’t become a burden to his wife Anna,” says production company GSP Studios.

Also in the cast are Sofia Helin, Erin Richards, and Max Brown.
