A fair promoting vegetarian and vegan diets will be held this Saturday (May 19) at Faro’s cultural and musicians association (ARCM).

As the association explains: “Vegetarianism has been gaining more followers and is presented as one of the main ways of protecting the environment”.

Entitled ‘Coração Verde’ (Green Heart), the fair will feature stalls with producers selling all sorts of vegetarian and vegan products from food to clothing and cosmetics.

There will also be lectures, workshops, dances and the screening of documentaries. Concerts and DJ sets are also scheduled.

The event begins at 10am and ends at midnight. Admission is free.

For those who might not know, vegetarians refrain from eating meat though they may eat products of animal origin such as eggs. Vegans, however, won’t consume any animal or animal-derived products.
