After luring visitors to Lagos last year with a selection of delicious festive foods, the municipal market in Lagos is again hosting another edition of its Christmas Market (Natal no Mercado) between Friday, December 16 and Sunday, December 18.

Regional sweets, "winter drinks" such as mulled wine and hot cocoa, tapas, cheeses and a selection of wines are just a few examples of the products that will be sold at the market.

Around 20 stalls will also be selling handicrafts, clothing made by local companies, and a variety of Christmas gifts.

Santa will, of course, be there on all three days to take pictures with thechildren and receive their Letters to Santa, while musical performances are also on the agenda.

The event is organised by Food Tours Algarve and the goal is "not so much to organise a Christmas fair but to give the local population a reason to come together, enjoy good food and get into the festive spirit,” said organiser Maria Nobre de Carvalho.

“Last year the feedback was so positive that we felt we had to hold another 'Natal no Mercado' event,” she added.

Doors open on Friday at 4pm and close on Sunday at midnight.

Entrance is free.
