Olhanense start their Campeonato de Portugal season away against Pinhalnovense (Pinhal Novo, Setúbal Peninsula) on Sunday. As Pinhalnovense’s main stadium is having a new synthetic pitch laid, the game will be played at Campo do Juncal in Moita, 12km from Pinhal Novo.

Olhanense played their fourth pre-season warm-up game when they entertained SC Portimonense U23 at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão. The young Portimonense squad are coached by Luís Boa Morte, the former Portugal international and fans favourite at Fulham (205 appearances) and West Ham (91 appearances).

Olhanense boss Ivo Soares fielded his strongest side in the first-half including keeper Ricky Gomes, a Canadian of Portuguese descent who recently played for Scottish outfit Arbroath. The home side went in at the break a goal up thanks to Leleco’s 33rd minute strike. With numerous changes at half-time, it was the visitors who scored twice through Bernardino (73’) and Sérgio Neto (82') from the penalty spot.

Olhanense's first home game is a local derby against Louletano on Sunday, August 19 at 5pm at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão (behind McDonalds on the EN125).
