Following publication of a study revealing that most “intersex, trans and non-binary” people who live in Lisbon feel “excluded”, Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality Rosa Monteiro has announced the government will be giving €50,000 to NGOs that work with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans and Intersexual community.

Until September 30, each organisation will be free to pitch for funding of up to €8,000.

Projects “can be related to the direct support of LGBTI people, the elaboration of materials for professionals, training and/ or awareness programmes, scientific studies and investigations, among others”, said Monteiro.
