Carvoeiro-based social club CASA held a 'Car Treasure Hunt' on Friday, May 18 under the title 'Magical Mystery Motor Meander'.

Starting at the coffee shop at Apolónia supermarket in Lagoa and followed by lunch at O Caçador restaurant, near Rasmalho, north of Portimão, a sedate drive of some 40km checking out some very strange clues (including a long abandoned JetSki) made for “great fun and laughs”.

Members were pleased this year to have eight cars take part and 38 attended the prize-giving and lunch.

The CASA committee thanks David and Helena for planning the entertaining Treasure Hunt and the enthusiastic participants.

Those who solved the most clues were congratulated and get to display special CASA trophies on their respective mantlepieces for the next year.

The next CASA event will be its annual barbecue on the terrace of The Holiday Inn in Armação de Pêra on Saturday, June 16.

Full details of planned events, which are open to non-members, can be obtained from the club website, www.casasocial.club, or from Margaret Brito on telephone 282 495 475 or email info@casasocial.club
