Campeonato de Portugal Division E leaders SC Farense are unstoppable as they racked up another victory in their quest to return to the Segunda Liga.

The comprehensive 4-1 demolition of Estrela FC (Vendas Novas) at the Estádio São Luis last Sunday was the Faro club’s 14th victory since they lost their only game of the season back in September.

An own goal by João Oliveira after only 90 seconds was the perfect start for Farense and when Livramento made it 2-0 from the penalty spot, on the half-hour mark, it was virtually game over.

Ten minutes after the interval, Irobiso made it three before Serginho reduced the arrears for Estrela FC with a well taken penalty five minutes from time. Three minutes later, Livramento notched up his second goal of the game to send the Farense fans home in party mood and ready for carnival.

On Sunday, SC Farense make the long journey to the Azores to play SC Ideal.
