Members of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and their guests were treated to a remarkable dinner prepared by Chef Hans Neuner, the proud holder of two Michelin stars, at his restaurant Ocean in the Vila Vita Parc resort in Porches.

The amazing décor of the restaurant, in blue, glass and corals, set the mood for an imaginative dinner and was the perfect frame for a demonstration of Hans Neuner’s cooking skills.

Six playful amuse-bouche included a deconstructed chicken “piri-piri” and a mini cataplana of octopus and sweet potato to prepare us for the three main courses of langoustine, sea bass and Pyrenees lamb.

Two desserts followed, one of pine seeds, caramel and citrus, and the other a fantastic mix of chocolate, carob and walnuts.

The portions were perfectly sized, which meant we still had a little space for the treats that accompanied the coffee.

Each course was carefully matched with a Portuguese wine to make the whole meal a very enjoyable experience.

Without any doubt, Ocean is presently one of the top restaurants in Europe and well worth visiting again and again.
