Although the professional section of SC Olhanense have been registered with the Portuguese Championship for next season, there is no guarantee that there will be a team available to compete.

Given the serious illness of Luigi Agnolin, Olhanense SAD president, and the apparent insolvency of the professional section, it would appear that the coming campaign will only be viable through the sale of the company or significant sponsorship in the next few weeks.

The majority of last season’s squad have moved elsewhere, some still owed several months’ salaries, and the loan players have returned to their parent clubs.

Fitness trainer Alun Andrews, who joined Nilton Terroso's technical team in Olhão last season, has returned to Wales to work with Wrexham FC.

In addition, the coach of the successful youth team, Hélder Rocha, will take over the technical leadership of Sambrazense in the 2nd AF Algarve District Division.
