A 32-year-old Brazilian has been caught attempting to smuggle a kilo of cocaine into Portugal wearing a “large fake bum”.

The case has seen the International Business Times quip: “No, it was not crack cocaine”, but it was about as inventive as smugglers have got… this far.

When it comes to secreting large quantities of drugs on a human body, just the simple act of walking can give the game away. In this case, the young man may have looked particularly ‘waddly’.

Customs officials at Lisbon airport pulled him over and discovered the drug - enough for at least 5000 individual doses - “stored in fake cheeks stitched into colourful blue swim shorts”.

The luckless trafficker then gave the name of his ‘contact’ who has also been arrested.

Both are now being held in preventive custody - the ‘large fake bum’ either exhibit A, or perhaps B (for bum).
