Maré at Pine Cliffs is the name of the resort’s revamped beachside restaurant at Albufeira’s Barranco das Belharucas beach. The restaurant has reopened with a new concept but will continue to be inspired mainly by the sea.

“This restaurant is a dream (come true). Apart from the wonderful view, it offers an original menu in which Algarvean flavours are king,” said Stuart Sage, executive chef at the Pine Cliffs resort, who created the restaurant’s new menu.

Customers can choose from a huge variety of dishes including tapas, sandwiches, hamburgers, salads and main courses.

Yellow fin tuna tartar with fennel, rocket, avocado and capers (€18), compressed watermelon salad with Persian feta cheese, mint and tarragon dressing (€14), BBQ octopus (€29) and ginger marinated mince chicken lettuce wrap with ponzo yuzu dipping sauce (€11.50) are just a few examples of the eclectic selection of dishes.

There is also a “fish of the day” that is grilled and served with lemon, olive oil, herbs and crispy capers for €32.

One of the most original creations is the crispy tiger prawn burger, served in a squid ink bun for €22.

For dessert, the highlight is the restaurant’s “deconstructed Snickers bar” (€9) which is made with milk chocolate mousse, cashew nut praline, biscuit crumble and vanilla.

Every Friday there will also be a sunset party with DJ Rhaim.

The restaurant is open from 9am to 11pm with ‘à la carte’ options available between midday and 9.30pm.
