Multiculturalism. Diversity. Integrative Psychology. If I had to describe my work in three words, these would be the ones.

My journey as clinical psychologist, sexologist and couple therapist (again three areas) has been a path of integration of cultural aspects combined with a diverse approach that integrates many psychotherapeutic tools enabling a better response to each patient’s needs. Thus, when I had to think about a concept for my website www.psychologyalacarte.com, this was the main idea behind: diversity “à la carte”.

After working in Lisbon for many years, finishing a Master’s in sociology and a counselling training course in London, I embarked on the adventure of studying sexology and working in Brussels for four years, where I cemented what I had initiated previously.

Being an expat back then allowed me to practise, develop and enrich my understanding of these multicultural approaches.

Two years ago, I decided to return to my home country and sunny Algarve seemed perfect to apply my international experience and acquired knowledge.

As a clinician, I work with anxiety, phobias, addiction, mood and personality disorders, grief, hypersensitivity, eating disorders, self-esteem and self-confidence issues, acute changes in life, internal and external conflicts, couple and individual sexual and/or affection issues and dysfunctions, separation/divorce, communication within the couple, low sexual desire, sex education, and so much more.

The sessions are held in three languages: English, French and Portuguese.

You can find me in Albufeira, São Brás de Alportel, Quinta do Lago and Carvoeiro.
