Faro is once again hosting a stage of the popular tapas route ‘Rota de Tapas Estrella Damm’, held annually by Spanish beer company Damm.

For €3, people can enjoy regional tapas accompanied by an Estrella Damm beer at one of the 19 participating eateries until Sunday, October 7.

There will be tapas to tempt any palate from shrimp vol-au-vent, cod cakes, mushroom bruschetta and tuna belly to shrimp curry and melted goat cheese with oregano.

“The route highlights good food and conviviality among friends. Restaurants taking part help build a unique experience, and the authenticity of Faro fits in perfectly with the spirit of the event, which is reflected on how the route has grown in the town,” said Vanessa Gamero, brand manager of Estrella Damm.

This is the 12th edition of the event, which was held for the first time in Portugal in Lisbon in 2013.

It started expanding to other towns across Portugal and is now also held in Faro, Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Évora and Viseu.

Participating restaurants in Faro are O Castelo; Vila Adentro; Tertúlia Algarvia; Hápetite; Columbus; Boheme; Académico; Aperitivo; Innocent; Outro Lado; Mercearia São Pedro; Taska Algarvia; Saudade em Português; Sushi Ya Fusion; My Café; Portas de São Pedro; The Moose; 8 Tapas; Cinderella Farense.
