An awareness session concerning land cleaning to help prevent the spread of rural fires is being held on Tuesday, May 22 at Clube de Tavira, from 4.30pm to 7pm.

The event will be jointly held by Safe Communities Portugal, the local GNR and Bombeiros de Tavira, and representatives from the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) have also been invited.

The aim of the seminar is to inform those in attendance about the laws surrounding land cleaning and forest fire prevention, the reporting of neighbouring overgrown land, enforcement action being taken, advice that is available, contact points and other issues.

Presentations will be in English and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Clube de Tavira is located at Rua da Liberdade 23, 8800-399 Tavira next to the town hall.
