Dear Editor,

Thank you so much for the article from Craig Rogers about the Ribeira de Odelouca (Algarve Resident, June 28 edition).

It did remind me of the time I lived in Zambia for a few years and how the rivers dried up exactly how it happens here. You think there is no life left until the rains start again.

And very near where we live we came eye to eye with the Egyptian Mongoose on our evening walk and I am so glad it is here because I spotted a few snakes and just hope he likes to eat those.
