Mário Custódio is the new general manager at the recently refurbished Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve hotel.

Boasting 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, Custódio has worked in hotel management for over 15.

Before joining Tivoli, he had worked with other Portuguese hotel groups such as Vila Galé and Pestana.

His first job with Tivoli was as food and beverage manager at Tivoli Lagos in 2002, and later at Tivoli Marina Portimão and Tivoli Marina Vilamoura.

He returned to Tivoli Lagos in 2010 as general manager, and in 2012 became general manager at Vilamoura’s Tivoli Victoria and The Residences at Victoria Clube de Golfe.

He has also led the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais and Tivoli Sintra. Tivoli Carvoeiro is now his next “venture”.

“It was here that I completed my last internship for the hotel management course at Estoril’s Superior School of Hotel and Tourism. Thus, it is with great pride that I return to this magnificent region to lead this iconic and impressive hotel,” Custódio said.

He says that he and his team have “great expectations” for 2018, the first “full year” in which the Tivoli Carvoeiro is open after undergoing extensive renovations which saw it upgraded to a five-star status.

One of the highlights of the revamped hotel is the new Sky Bar, the rooftop bar boasting “a 360º view of the sea and surrounding cliffs”.
