A new initiative entitled ‘Net Me Up’ is being launched by Turismo de Portugal and Territórios Criativos in a bid to give startups linked to the tourism sector a chance to pitch their business ideas to a panel of investors and potential partners and clients onboard a boat in the Algarve.

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 2 and is open to businesses all over Portugal, although “preferentially from the Algarve and Lower Alentejo”.

Entrepreneurs will be encouraged to present their ideas to the jury in an “informal and laidback environment” after which six finalists will be selected to fight for the €4,000 prize money at a ‘Pitch Dinner’ at Albufeira Marina.

The event will begin at 2.30pm with a welcome drink onboard the boat which will also give everyone the opportunity for some networking.

This will be followed by the ‘Pitch Sessions’ and then the selection of the finalists, with the event coming to a close with the ‘Pitch Dinner’ and the announcement of the winner.

Organised with the support of Algarexperience and GEN Portugal, the initiative aims to bolster and support businesspeople and startup companies that are linked to the tourism sector and could benefit from further investment.

More information can be found online on the event’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Net.Me.Up.Portugal/). The form to sign up can also be found online (https://goo.gl/forms/q3NHfTRtTvT9av9G3).
